8/19/10 Finals next week should be scheduled for 6pm, unless a lighted field is available. The 2010 Fall Season (over 25) will start Saturday Sept. 11 and depending on number of teams will run for 10 weeks till mid November. All games will be played on Saturday mornings starting by 9:30AM. All present Tricounty teams are welcome to enter. Teams can also be combined to form a fall team. Must have a HOME field. New teams interested must have a HOME field and get the necessary liability insurance through Bene Marc as well as pay the annual league fee of $50. The referee fees will be increased to $74 split by the 2 teams playing. To enter a team for the fall season please send email jsantobrms@hotmail.com to confirm by Sept. 1, 2010.

8/11/10 O30 playoff games updated on playoffs page. Rules updated with Playoff section. All teams in the playoffs should email a roster of their players to jsantobrms@hotmail.com.

8/7/10: Playoffs page has been updated. Top 4 teams in O48 voted 3-1 to not have playoffs so there are no O48 playoffs. There are no more O40 games makeups scheduled so O40 playoffs can start this week. If teams have scheduling problems O40 playoff games can be delayed a week.

7/17/10: The weeks of Aug. 2 through Aug. 15 are to be used for make up games. You can schedule a make up game any day of the week including weekends whenever a field is available as per league bylaws. Team standings based on bylaws will be locked on Monday Aug. 16 and playoffs will begin that week. In each division, teams 1 & 4 and teams 2 & 3 will compete in the semis with the higher seed being the home team. Winners will play the following week in the division championship game. On Tuesday Aug. 17 there is a mandatory referee meeting for all high school refs which includes almost all officials in Tricounty. Thus a 3 men system will not be possible that day. We will try to schedule the over 30 semis on another day in order to utilize a 3 men system. Teams competing in the playoffs will split the referee fees. When a game is scheduled and confirmed by both teams, please email jsantobrms@hotmail.com to have officials assigned to the game.

6/26/10: Harry Slagle a long time player in the league died unexpectedly of a massive heart attack after his daily run Thursday night. Harry was a long time player in the Tricounty League for the Greater Flemington Soccer Club. He also was a USSF and varsity high school referee. One of the most respected and knowledgable officials in the area. Harry will be missed by the soccer community.

The viewing will be at Countryside Funeral Home on 724 Rt. 202 north, Flemington NJ from 5-9 p.m. on Monday. Final viewing and prayers at funeral home Tuesday 8:30 AM-9:15 AM. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Magdalen's, Flemington, NJ.

6/25/10 2nd Annual Lucie Bennett Scholarship Fund Soccer Tournament. Last year, although rained out, we managed to get it under way and raised $6000 on the day, which goes towards the Lucie Bennett Scholarship Fund. This year a $10,000 scholarship was awarded to Hunterdon High School Student who is entering into the field of special education. All thanks to you guys.

Tournament is August 21st, Summer Road Park. Rain date 28th. Sergio has offered to assist in the organisation of this event. Please let Ricky Bennett, 908-303-7459, know as soon as possible if you will be entering a team. The fee will be $350 per team, non refundable and age group 35+ with a few over 30's allowed. We are currently underway with setting up the Family Fun Day side of things for the day too. More details will soon be available when we understand how many will be entering.

6/7/10: Clinton is having a World Cup Party on Saturday! Anyone who is looking to watch the game, please feel free to join them. England vs United States, Saturday Jun 12 2:30pm, Circa Restaurant, High Bridge. Unlike 2006, we will watch weekend matches at Circa with the aid of projection TV, giving us the size screen we all want. Circa opens at Noon while we watch highlights of World Cup Finals of old, listen to the best in music and enjoy a special brew made especially for CTFC by Ramstein Brewery for the period of the World Cup Finals.

5/5/10: A trend seems to be developing that must be stopped. Teams are coming up with inappropriate reasons to cancel or reschedule games. Two games were not played yesterday on a perfect weather day with good fields available. The schedule must be followed. The ONLY reason that a game is not to played as scheduled is the weather or an unexpected unavailable field. A passing afternnoon storm does not imply NO game. Many times fields are in better shape after the storm. Players and officials make a commitment to the schedule and if that is unnecessarily changed it becomes an unfair situation to all. League RULES will be followed and in some cases forfeits will be awarded and the team forfeiting will have to pay the referee fee.

4/1/10: In O40 the 2 teams with a BYE can play a friendly that will not count in the standings if a field is available. Contact John, jsantobrms@hotmail.com if you want a ref. Teams split ref fees.

3/26/10: O40 Division schedules posted.

3/23/10: O40 Division realigned. There will be 6 teams in A. 5 in B and C. A teams will play each other 3 times. B and C teams will play teams in their division twice, and the teams in the other C/B division once.

3/23/10: O30,O48 Schedules posted. Due to a fair number of teams not having fields for first part of the season, the home and away games are not evenly distributed over the duration of the season for some teams. Given the field constraints, it was the best we could do.

3/6/10: The Tricounty web site has moved to tricountynj.com. The previous web site, at tricounty.home.att.net will disappear after 4/1/10. Please update your bookmarks to point to tricountynj.com!

3/16/10: O40 Division alignment posted.

3/6/10:
League Meeting Summary:
Rules: The following rule changes were agreed upon for 2010:

  • The time to cancel a game due to inclement weather conditions is pushed back to 3pm, instead of 2pm.
  • The clause in Section V. on Red Cards for assaults was changed so the length of suspensions are determined by the league President, rather than at the end-of-season league meeting since we no longer hold that meeting.
  • Section X. The clause "Rosters and waivers should be available at games for any team that requests them." is deleted.

Team movement/adds/drops: Pittstown FC O40, FC Sprinfield O30, and Tewksbury O30 dropped out. Bridgewater United O30 and Bridgewater-Raritan O30 combined into Bridgewater Amici. Hunterdon teams are renamed GFSC. AFC Imperial from Fall joins O30B, along with a new team, Rat Pack. Sanovi-Aventis is adding a team to O40. Summit Gunners moved to O40 and are renamed Inter. New Providence is adding a team to O48.

The O30 and O48 divisions are settled. The O40 division is still in progress.

The division pages contain the known field constraints. Please check them and send any corrections. Some of the sharing constraints were imported from last year's table and may no longer be valid. Also check the Contacts page for any errors. Email corrections to help@tricountynj.com.

1/17/10 Our yearly meeting will be held on Monday March 1, 2010 @ 7:30PM at the Chimney Rock Inn, Bridgewater, NJ. Refreshments will be served. Chimney Rock Inn, (732) 469-4600, View map
