Summary of League Meeting held this evening:

    • Fall League will start on Saturday, September 11 and run for 10 weeks. Games start at 10 AM. There are 5 definite teams and 1 maybe: Tewksbury, Hunterdon, Flying Dreads, Whippany Strikers, FedEx, and maybe AT&T. Schedules will be posted here when they are available and emailed to team managers. Age limit for Fall League is 25 and up. A new Fall section has been added to the Team Contacts page.
    • For the Fall League if a game must be cancelled due to inclement weather, the home team must notify the opposing team and referee assigner, John Santo, by 8 AM on the day of the game. If the game must be cancelled for any other reason, the opposing team and referee assigner must be notified by 2PM on the Friday before the game.
    • Insurance checks ($100) for all teams, including the Spring/Summer league are now due to Randall Dahme. His address is listed under Tewksbury on the team contacts page.
    • Jose Murillo was presented with a crystal soccer ball in appreciation for all he has done for the league over the years.
    • Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at 7:30 PM at Busher's Restaurant, Rt 22 West, White House N.J. At this meeting the movement of teams between divisions for the 2000 Spring/Summer season will be discussed.

    8/4/99
Summary of League Meeting held this evening:

    • Jose Murillo is stepping down as League President and is moving to Allentown, NJ.
Thank you for running the League for all these years!
    • Helmut Kientzler (908-526-2451, Kientzler@webtv.net) and
      John Santo (908-429-1736, jsantobrms@hotmail.com)
      will take over for Jose.
    • The next league meeting is scheduled for August 31, 7:30 PM, at Bushers.
Insurance money for the '99-'00 season is due at this meeting.
    • Schedules for the August 8th tournament were distributed. Tournament starts at 9 AM sharp.
    • Fall season will start on Saturday, September 11. Games will start at 10 AM.
    • Rule Changes:
      • If a home team forfeits a game a $50 penalty is owed to the League in addition to the fee owed the referee.
Commentary: The motivation of this rule is to create a real penalty for a home team that forfeits a game. As was previously the case, if an away team forfeits a game they must pay the ref fee that is normally paid by the home team. We don't want forfeits. We want to play soccer. If you must cancel a game notify the opposing team and referee well in advance.
      • The League fee for the first year of a new team will be $100 more than the fees for established teams. The extra $100 is an escrow account to cover referee expenses in case the team forfeits games. If the team finishes the season without forfeits the escrow money will be returned or applied to the next season.
      • If a team has only 7 players and one of those players receives a yellow card the team may continue with 6 players while the offending player sits for the 10 minute penalty. If a player on a team with 7 players receives a red card, leaving 6 players, that team forfeits.
Commentary: Don't commit stupid fouls if you only have 7 players. Better yet, bring a few more players.
    • Teams were reminded that refusing to finish a match because the score is lop-sided or they are short-handed is a forfeit. Opponents are not obligated to provide players to short-handed teams, although as a courtesy, they may do so.

    • Please notify Helmut Kientzler by July 7th whether your team will participate in the tournament. We need your reply now to determine if the tournament will be held. You can contact him at (908)-526-2451 or by e-mail at Kientzler@webtv.net.

    6/23/99

    • I am sorry to report that Chris Schwaiger, a player on the Bethlehem Over-40 team, died on Monday, June 7. Chris suffered a heart attack in a game vs Over-40 Hunterdon-I on May 13. He was 55, and is survived by his wife, Kay, two sons Chris and Mark, a daughter Deanna, a step-daughter Jaimee, and a step-son Sean, as well as a brother Peter. The Hunterdon Soccer Club has made a donation to the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad, and both Hunterdon and Bethlehem have recognized the heroic efforts made by at least one bystander in administering CPR at the scene. Our hearts go out to Chris' family and friends.

    • John Santo will be replacing Jose Murillo at the referee assigner.
    • The tournament will be held on August 8. Please consult your team and notify us if you intend to participate by sending email to tricounty@att.net. A summary of the teams intentions will be posted on the Tournament page.

    6/7/99

Only 7 teams showed up for the 6/7 meeting, so nothing was discussed. The only issue was the tournament, and we agreed to try to do this by email rather than having another meeting.

The Strikers team dropped out of the Over-30 A-Division. They have been replaced with a new team, National Starch. If you are scheduled to play them, please contact their team manager, Amos Enabosi. His phone number and e-mail address are listed on the Team Contacts page. Since they joined the league on very short notice, they may have trouble obtaining a home field for their first few home games.

    3/25/99
Over-40 Division schedules posted. Available in HTML and in a Microsoft Word file.

    3/23/99
The final schedules for the Over-30 Division were posted at 11 PM on Tuesday, March 23. To see the schedule for an individual team, click on the Over-30 A or Over-30 B links, and then click on the team of interest. The complete schedule is also available as a Web page or as a Microsoft Word 97 document. The A Division was extensively revised. The fields used for some of the B Division games also changed, as we tried to accomodate the teams that will not be able get their home fields in the early part of the season (Old Blue, Lucent, New Providence II).

    Summary of 3/22/99 League Meeting

    • The new team from Somerville did not show up at the meeting and has not been in contact with any of the team managers, so they are out.
    • A new team, Flying Dreads F.C., was added to the B division.
    • The new Lucent Striker's team is in the A division. To avoid confusion with the old Lucent team, we'll simply call them Strikers.
    • This leaves 8 teams in A, and 10 teams in B. The schedules currently on this Web server were incorrectly made under the assumption there would be 9 teams in A and B. The new schedules are being worked on.

    • The updated Web pages will only be posted on this Web site. There will not be another meeting to distribute the schedules.
