Fall division is on the 4 team schedule. The schedule was moved to the Fall link and the 5 team schedule no longer exists.

    9/10/01
Fall schedules posted. We are still not sure if we have 4 or 5 teams. 4 teams are definite: Tewksbury, Hunterdon I & II, and Piscataway. One is possible: we'll call it Ortho for now. Schedule was made assuming 5 teams. Ortho gets the bye the first week. If the team doesn't materialize by the middle of next week, we go with the alternate 4 team schedule, instead of the 5 team schedule. The schedules are identical for the first week. Games are the usual Saturday at 10 AM.

    9/6/01

    • Randall Dahme changed his email address.
    • For the Fall, as of today we still have 4 teams: Hunterdon I and II, Tewksbury, and Piscataway. I guess we'll shoot for 9/15 as the first game. Saturdays were preferred by all teams involved.

    8/23/01
A suggestion was made to play the fall season games on Sunday mornings at 9AM instead of Saturdays, in order to entice more teams and players to participate. If your team is interested in a fall season with Sunday games send email to tricounty@att.net.

    7/25/01
From John Santo: A referee was assaulted on July 24 in the Old Blue vs. New Providence game at New Providence High School. Glen Anderson from Old Blue was ejected for violent play. He then attacked the referee who was hit but not injured and the game was resumed. Mr. Anderson will be suspended for the rest of the season as per our by-laws. This kind of behavior can not be tolerated. If Mr. Anderson participates in a game, the team will forfeit the match.

Its time to start thinking about the Fall season. If you intend to play in the Fall division send email to tricounty@att.net. Teams that express interest will be listed on the Fall page.

    7/23/01
Soccer Center in Somerset NJ is looking to start an Over 30 indoor league (7 vs 7) this fall. They only have 2 or 3 teams right now and need 8. Soccer Center is a brand new "Bubble" soccer complex right off of I-287, with natural feeling synthetic turf, and the two 7 vs 7 fields are perfectly smooth and flat. See www.soccercentersnj.com. The league will start Wednesday 9/5/01 and run for seven weeks, then renew for another seven weeks. Game times are 8:30 & 9:30 on two fields side-by-side. The cost is cheaper than other similar facilities, at $350/team and $15/game. A ten man team works out to $45/player, or about $6.50/game for a seven week session. For more info, contact Jim Cleary of Over-30 A Bridgewater I.

    7/20/01
    Field directions added for Ortho.

    7/15/01
Contact information updated for Jimmy Gensch of Over 30 Bridgewater I.

    7/7/01
Bridgewater I and II will play the remainder of their home games at River Road Park, north field, when its available. When its not, they will probably be at 4H but contact them to be sure.

The 5/22 Bridgewater-I/Tewksbury game was moved to Lenape Park, field #4 in Hunterdon. The 5/22 Aventis/New Providence II game will take place at River Road Park, South Field, Bedminster.

    5/4/01
Old Blue will be using an alternate field for their games on 5/8, 5/29, and 7/3: Elizabeth River Park, Rutgers Ave, Hillside. All their other games will be held at New Providence High School. Directions to both fields are now available.

    5/2/01

    • Piscataway has a new home field - Green Acres, Sidney Rd, Piscataway.
    • Flying Dreads forfeited yesterday and dropped out of Over-30 B.
    • To fill the void teams that had a bye will play the team the Flying Dreads would have played. This leads to the following Over-30 B schedule changes. On some dates field constraints may prevent the game from taking place. Where these are known, they are listed. In these cases, we'll leave it up to the 2 teams involved to either swap fields, find another field, or opt not to play the game.

    Summary of the 3/27/01 Meeting:

    • As of the 3/27 meeting 4 teams still owed insurance premiums: Bethlehem, Bethlehem-40, National Starch, Ortho.
    • An amendment to the rules was made to insure that postponed games that influence the top two positions in the standings are either played or scored as forfeits. See "Make Up Games" in the rules.
    • Bridegwater I and II, and Bridewater 40 I and II lost the use of the 4H field until mid June, and possible longer. Bridgewater I and II will use the River Road, Bedminster or Hunterdon field as their alternate home field (see the directions) until further notice. Bridgewater 40 I and 40 II were still deciding where their home game will be.
    • AT&T 40 and Ortho are still looking for home fields.
    • A presentation on Futsal was made.
    • Corrections were made to some of the contacts.

    2/28/01
    Summary of the 2/27/01 Meeting:

    • The next League Meeting is on Tuesday, March 27th 7:30 PM at Busher's Restaurant.
    • Trophies were awarded to last seasons winners.
    • Season will start the week of 4/23 and run for 18 consecutive weeks.
    • All teams from last year are back.
    • FedEx and National Starch will move from Over-30 B to A. There will be 10 teams in A.
    • Flying Dreads and IC United (formerly Anadigics) will move from Over-30 A to B. There will be 11 teams in B.
    • Over-40: Same as last year plus Branchburg. Ortho may play too. There will be 10 teams with Ortho, 9 without.
    • League fee is $50/team.
    • Insurance is $100/team or $5/player which ever is greater.
    • Insurance and League fees must be paid at or before the next meeting. Checks for insurance should be made out to Bene-Marc and may be mailed to Randall Dahme, the Tewksbury team contact.
    • If you discover any contraints on the use of your home field, email them as soon as possible to tricounty@att.net.
    • Refs will be instructed to stay and referee the game if it becomes an unofficial scrimmage due to a lack of players, provided both teams want to play. This may occur if one team doesn't have the minimum number of players and the other team lends them enough players so they have at least the minimum 7, or the score becomes so lop-sided that players are loaned to the other team at some point during the game. All the other League Rules apply during the scrimmage. The refs will not be obligated to stay if the number of players in the scrimmage drops below the required minimum, 7v7.
    • The rules for under aged players were clarified. It is the responsibility of the captain to insure no under aged players participate. Please act honorably.
      • If your team has an under aged player your captain must inform the opposing captain BEFORE the game begins that an under-aged player is present. The opposing team captain has the disgression to allow or not allow the under aged player to participate.
      • If a team has doubts about a player's age it may require proof of age, such as a license. If the player is present at the start of the game this request must be made before the game begins.
      • If a team believes a member of the opposing team that arrives after the game has started is under age, it must challenge that player when he first enters the game. However, to insure the verification does not interrupt the game, the player is allowed to enter and play. When the half is over the ref will verify the players age. If verification shows the player is under age the game is a forfeit.
The web site was updated for 2001.

    1/23/01
