Sad news. Louie Motta past away last Sunday, 9/30/02.
Louie played on and off for several Tri-County teams and dedicated his
life to soccer in the area. Visitation on Wednesday, 10/2/02, 2-4 and 7-9pm
at Newbaker Funeral Home, Rt. 94, Blairstown, NJ.

- Hunterdon III is combining with Hunterdon I due to lack of players.

Fall schedule posted. 2 or 3 additional weeks will be added to
the schedule after the first 7 weeks are played and the teams
are ranked by record. New Providence III declined. Home games for
Tewksbury/Piscataway will start at 9am at Miller Lane.
Home games for Orange 74/Bethlehem start at 11:30am
at Miller Road. Hunterdon home games are at Lenape at 10am.

Due to the weekend after playoffs landing on Labor Day with many players away,
the new plan is to have all playoff games during the week of August 25 - for
example have the semifinals on Tue and finals on Thu for all divisions,
although other days can be negotiated between teams.
The higher seeded team will have the home field advantage
provided they can obtain a field. Due to early sunset games should start at 6:00 PM rather
than the usual 6:30 PM. Ref fees will be split between teams. Semifinal will have
one ref ($30 per team) and final will use a 3 ref system ($60 per team).

It's time to think about the Fall season. Team entries will be accepted until
September 1. Games will be Saturday mornings starting 9/14. If you intend to participate
send mail to tricounty@att.net. The current list of
teams will be posted on the Fall page.
7/23/02
Playoffs will be held the week after the season ends for the top 4 teams in the
O30A, O30B, and O40 divisions. Makeup games that affect the top 4 positions should be
played and reported by Thursday, August 22.
For the semifinal, the 4th place team will be play at the home field
of the 1st place team and the 3rd place team will play at the home field
of the 2nd place team. These games should played on the night the league usually
plays on (August 27th O30, August 29th O40), although the day may be changed
if both teams agree. If the team with the home field
advantage cannot obtain their home field, the game should be played
at their opponent's field.
The finals will be held at a central location the following weekend
at a location TBD.

- Aventis, Tewksbury directions updated for days when both are home.
Aventis will play at River Rd on 7/2 and 7/23. Tewksbury will play at River Rd on 8/6.
- New Providence II will play at Horseshoe and HCC Summit will play at Passaic Rear
(field swap) on the following dates: 6/25, 7/2, and 7/30. See table on directions page.

Starting next week, 5/14, Piscataway has a new home field at the Hillsborough
Municipal Complex.

- Directions for Branchburg updated due to construction at school.
- Front field at Passaic River Park is no longer available. We have a new
field for HCC Summit and New Providence III in June, July, and August at Horseshoe Rd
in Berkeley Heights.
Still working on a field for HCC Summit/NP3 home games in May. Contact NP3 or HCC Summit
if you play them at home in May.

- Field issues in Over-30 Division resolved.
- Over-30 schedules posted.
- Over-40 scheduled updated.
A new team, Hunterdon 40 III, took the bye slot. All other games unchanged.
- Teams that do not have fields in April+May were given some home games
in April/May, but always against an opponent that has a field available.
These games will be played at the opponents field, unless they come up with
field of their own, but will count as their home game
- e.g. the team without the field pays for the ref.
This means these teams may play 2 games at their opponents field over
the season, but it avoids penalizing the few teams with unshared fields
from playing all their games on the road in the hot weather of
July and August. The following games are in this category:

2/27/02
Summary of 2/27 meeting:
- Trophies were awarded.
- Referee fees will be $60/game.
- A Division: New Providence II and Aventis Rayders moved up to A.
FedEx merged with New Providence II. A new team, Watchung Hills is in
A and merged with Old Blue. 10 teams.
- B Division: Hunterdon I moved down. A new team, New Providence III was
added. 10 teams.
- 0ver 40 Division: Branchburg 40 is out.
A new team, Berkeley Heights/New Providence was
added. 9 teams.
- River Road fields in Bedminster were lost for season.
The teams that were planning to use them are exploring other options.
- Season will start week of 4/23 and end week of 8/20 for all divisions.
18 weeks. No over-40 games on 7/4.
- There will be playoffs for the 4 teams that lead each division.
- Rules for paying refs in shortened games and unplayable fields were reviewed.
- We'll try to get by without another meeting.
- Schedule will be made in 2 weeks to give teams time to acquire fields
and discover constraints on their use. Known field contraints are shown
on the division links.
2/24/02
- REMINDER! The next League Meeting is Wed, February 27, 2002, 7:30 PM
at Buscher's. A team rep must be at the meeting to enter for this season.
- Bring a check made out to Bene-Marc for the insurance.
This year the cost of the insurance has dropped 40%. It's $60/team, or $3/player,
whichever is more. The same rules for players on multiple teams apply.
The insurance must be paid at this meeting.
- Bring a check made out to Tricounty for the league fee. Fee is same as last
year: $50 for existing teams and $150 ($50 + $100 bond) for new teams.
- If you know of any constraints on the use of your home field that info would
be helpful for making the schedule.
- Referee fees will be $60/game.

at Buscher's. A team rep must be at the meeting to enter for this season.
- New Providence II will combine with FedEx in the A division, and be
called New Providence II.
- Bethlehem (Over 30 and Over 40) doesn't have a field until June
due to construction at the school.
- IC United and Bridgewater I will
share the north field at River Road in Bedminster.
- Bridgewater II may change their name to Somerset Hills.
- 2 new teams want to enter the B division: New Providence III and Warren Rovers.
